I purchased the Samsung PowerBot (R7040) and we're really loving it for the vacuum side of it, but having a world of trouble with the "smart" side of it. First, I was completely unable to get it connected with the Classic SmarthThings app, which I prefer, but gave up after far too long of attempting. I was, however, able to get it connected into the new SmartThings app right away. (Side frustration point: why do things added in the Classic SmartThings app show up automatically in the New SmartThings app, but not visa versa? Same account and only one hub. Verified through SmartThings API.) I can manually launch it to clean via the SmartThings app now. Swell.
What I want to be able to do is launch it through Google Assistant via verbal command. Issue #1. Devices that I have syncing in the New app, but which don't carry to the Classic app, don't show up as available devices in Google Home app. #2 Was able to get it to show up in the Google Home app by linking yet another Samsung app to it, the Samsung Smart Home app, which I had to use initially to connect the PowerBot to WiFi. Device is available in Google Home app, I can issue a verbal command which it audibly accepts...only nothing happens. The same goes for attempting to do this through IFTTT.
Doing a bit of research I found that I should create a Scene through the New SmartThings app for the PowerBot to initiate a cleaning cycle, which I should be able to link either via Google Home app directly, or through IFTTT for a more customized command. Now then, when I am in the New SmartThings app, and I try to add it to a scene it fails every single time. Just says "Failed" on the bottom, then when I hit cancel it lets me know that it failed because it was unable to connect to the device. This makes no sense whatsoever as the icon for the PowerBot in New SmartThings is lit up blue, states it's charging, I can tap into it and issue a manual "Auto" command which starts it cleaning.
I'm about ready to walk away, utterly defeated. Does anybody have any thoughts/tips/tricks? Thx in advance!
