L’intensité obéit à la loi d’additivité :
Dans un circuit en dérivation l’intensité dans la branche principale est égale à la somme des intensités de toutes les branches dérivées
I've had my bench power supply dishing out 1.6 amps at 24v (more on that in a bit) to the Neato via its charging pads, it charges fine; eventually dropping the amperage to 400mA when nearing charge completion. I've actually had it running up to 5 amps without mainboard damage and without the Neato cutting off power (despite what other forumers have found), though I really wouldn't recommend that, you'll damage your batteries.

The charging software is set for lithium. Neato XV and original Botvac use original NiMh batteries. The Setconfig command is not published, discovered by Russian hackers. This command sets the software for either Vorwerk or Neato models. AnewPow, Lithium Power Inc. batteries use hardware to translate the NiMh charging procedure for lithium cells, so no hacking of the Neato software is needed. When making your own batteries it is possible to build similar circuits. I did so at Robotreviews.com on experiments with LiFePo4 batteries. Such projects are complicated and require knowledge of electronics. By setting the Neato software to Vorwerk mode this circuit is eliminated and the Neato charging procedure is switched to lithium battery procedure. The setting command does not work on the oldest XV models using the older Rev113 Cruz system board.
Lithium charging stops at a maximum voltage 4.2v per cell, 16.8v for Neato series of four. When software is set for NiMH delivering a fake high temperature signal on the thermistor line on the battery connector, when the maximum voltage is reached, the NiMh charging procedure is stopped at the correct time. Without this signal, the Neato will issue an error message as the charging voltage goes to high. That will damage the lithium cells, and possibly cause a fire, unless a separate protection board is used with the lithium cells, cutting out at excess voltage. Using LiNmC lithium cells, as was done in this thread and in AnewPow products, reduces the fire hazard in faulty conditions, compared to cell phone type batteries. These cells are also used in power tool packs.
With the software set to lithium type 3, Vorwerk, the Neato charger stops by itself based on the maximum 16.8v, without reference to temperature.
